DETAILS
A 1920’s Namiki Box commissioned by Alfred Dunhill in Northern Africa. This rarity features an aesthetically skillful engraving of a bird, using a traditional technique of Japanese lacquering, called Maki-e. To perfect the art of Maki-e, it takes great craftsmanship and years of training. The box is inlaid in silver trimming and was most likely an accessory piece for pen collectors of limited, Dunhill-Namiki pens.
