1927 Westminster Coat of Arms Silver Frame
A silver rectangular Photograph Frame, the top surmounted by an applied Coat of Arms for the Metropolitan Borough of Westminster, with heraldic lions standing atop a banner inscribed “CustodiCivitatemDomine”, meaning “O Lord, Watch Over This City”. Hallmarked for London 1927, mark of A.P, F.P, A.P for Alfred, Francis and Arthur Pairpoint. Contains a document presented to Councilor George H. Heilbuth”for the valuable services rendered by him to the city, as Mayor, during the year 1925-26″, presented “on the occasion of the unveiling of his portrait in oils”. The Metropolitan Borough of Westminster existed in London from 1900 to 1965. It is entirely appropriate that the document is presented in an official Borough of Westminster Photograph Frame. The highlighted letter W at the start of the document is particularly well designed and painted.
