DETAILS

The Patek Philippe Calatrava automatic “back wind” reference 3569-2 from the 1970s in stunning original condition. It features a crisp 18k solid yellow gold case and original silver dial with black inlaid gold baton indices and hands in excellent condition showing some small signs of age around the edge. The 35.5mm diameter case lacks the usual crown positioned at 3 o’clock and measures 8mm thick. The case appears unpolished and in excellent condition with some small scratches. The watch houses the cal. 350 movement well known for being ultra-thin and features the crown on the case back known as a “back wind”. Unlike the other “back wind” watches available at the time from the likes of Jaeger-LeCoultre, the Patek Philippe “back wind” Calatravas were all automatic.  The watch is complimented by its original Patek Philippe lizard strap and 18k solid gold pin buckle. Overall this watch appears to have only been worn occasionally from new in the 1970s and wears perfectly well as a time-only automatic dress watch.
